Dance figures

What the buttons do

• Figures in order:
  The figures chosen must appear in a dance in that order, with nothing in between them.
• Same skipping generic figures:
  A "generic" figure is one such as "Repeat", and this will be ignored so you don't need to put it in your list.
• Containing Figures:
  To get the most matches — any dance which contains your figures anywhere will be listed.
• Starting with Figures:
  More restrictive than Figures in order: the first figure in your list must be the first figure in the dance.
• Clear all:
  Start your search from scratch.

General information

The coding of figures has evolved over a number of years.  New figures or figure combinations have been added to the database without the updating of entries for dances entered already.  A process of revision is being carried out, but in the meantime we suggest that you try different combinations of figures if the first selection doesn’t bring up the dances you expect.
